ORGB Week 3
Since we did not have class on Tuesday, I do not have much to say this week. I really did bad in the test. Though I did the readings over the weekend, 5 assignments due on Thursday left no time for me to review. I almost finished the test with nothing in my mind. Hope it will not effect my grade much. After the test, we talked about the influence in group decision making. Usually, the leader has the most power to influence the group decision. The experts have the second. This reminder me my capstone group. We are a group of three, I and another boy did not have any background in probabilistic robotics while the third member had worked in a robot company almost a year and would become full time after that semester. Except some questions in control or simulation that areas I am familiar with, we usually followed the professional member. We have nothing to argue since he always easily pointed out why my design would not work. He had the most power to make the decision inside our group.
ORGB Week2
This week we finished our “survival project”. When professor read the the result from a expert, I knew that I definitely died if I were there alone. I totally agree with the sentence she read: A group is smarter than individuals”. We have a similar sentence in Chinese , it seems like a global agreement between different cultures. Later in this week, we watched the movie,”12 Angry Men”. I heard this movie before, my friend told me that this movie is great even though it was produced in 1957. He is a amateur, but his suggestion is usually very valuable. The fact is “12 Angry Men” is a great movie. Since it is adapted from a drama, actors acted like on the stage. Each of the twelve men has their specific characters. It is very interesting to see 12 men who has different culture, education, professional background worked together. It told us a group has individuals with different backgrounds may produce amazing results. The most common example is a firm. A successful global firm is operated by a group with different culture, education, professional backgrounds.
